Retrofit

Featuring Bob Brisbane [vocals and percussion], Clem [guitar], Shane Pooley [double bass] and special guest, Nic Rose [vocals and guitar], Retrofit are a unique blend of classic and recent hits. The band prides itself on challenging material and captivating arrangements, making them one of the most sought-after and well-respected live acts in the city. Their repertoire is vast and the band is widely-acknowledged as rearranging, revamping and reinterpreting material beyond the limits of their instrumentation.
Retrofit are truly a unique band, bringing you the best of past hits as well as bringing back some overlooked gems of the past 30 years. Every Friday from 6:30pm and every Sunday from 9:00pm.

Strutt Featuring Ses Sayer

Cool, Smooth & Funky are words that spring to mind when listening to one of Perth's leading soul bands. Ses' moody vocal style and slick delivery lend authenticity to the great songs of soul legends, Sam & Dave, Barry White and Sam Cooke to name a few. Together with his wonderfully talented band Strutt, they create an ambience rarely seen in Perth.

The Members of Ses Sayer and Strutt all have particularly impressive musical backgrounds. Individually, they have played with some of the biggest names and theatrical shows in the business including, James Morrison, Tommy Emanuel, James Ingram, Porgie & Bess, The Boy from Oz, My Fair Lady, and many others. While providing a warm, sophisticated ambience, these exceptionally talented musicians will perform music made popular by all the soul greats with a delivery which is strong yet smooth. Funksta

Performing everything from funk classics, soul, R&B favorites and dance floor hits, Funksta, bring a new flavour to Friday nights.

Off The Record

Off the Record are a quality five piece funk/groove act who embrace both the chilled and dance floor music flavours.

Featuring the inimitable lead vocals of one of Perth's best vocalists, Eleanora, this funk/soul dance band are simultaneously masters of subtle melodies and phat grooves.

Karin Page Duo

Karin Page is one of Perth’s most impressive acoustic acts.

With original and cover music experience under her belt, Karin is an extremely talented entertainer.

Performing early on Saturday evenings as a duo (percussion) Karin Page enhances the musical mood and is a great accompaniment to your Saturday dinner.

Shawn & Luc

SHAWNE and LUC are an experienced and talented duo, who have been playing successfully together for several years.

Their repertoire is diverse in range, encompassing the classics and all the latest popular hits - catering for many tastes.

The strong acoustic drive backed with solid grooves and some of the best vocals you'll hear, makes Shawne & Luc a valued addition to the Universal Bar's music roster.

Oak Tree Way

Born of musical seed, Matt and Nicki enjoyed a childhood surrounded by a musical family. Two of four children with a high school music teacher and professional performer, for a Father.

Each beginning with piano tuition and progressing through an array of instruments, the siblings pursued individual musical paths over the years.
As a teenager, Nicki took to the streets of Perth - guitar in hand to become accustomed to the life of a performer, whilst Matt diversified into saxophone and violin.
The year 2001 saw a change of heart and a change of state when Nicki packed her life into a suitcase and headed to Melbourne, hitting the pub scene as a soloist.

After an excitingly successful 6 year Melbourne circuit, Nicki returned home to Perth.

Amongst ongoing creative endeavors with group “Retriofit” and individuals John Clements, Bob Brisbane and James Morley, Nicki also enjoys various electronic projects with Andrew Mees and dance / funk band Shifty Translation.
Now teaming up with little brother Matt, they continue to develop this fresh perspective on acoustic entertainment. A balance between classic and contemporary… pop, rock and alternative styles, the repertoire is different and engaging.

Soul Corporation

Soul Corporation was founded by Ian Dennis in the early to mid 90's, after joining forces with long time soul-brothers Sonny, Joey and Alan to create a professional, high energy, exciting, friendly and interactive band that has the ability to cater for a wide range of musical tastes with a 'kick butt' attitude towards their audience!

Soul Corporation continues to be a major force within the local hotels/pubs and corporate music industry. Whatever your taste in music or occasion, "Soul Corp" have got it all!
